One question about recovering after an overloaded week

A recent moment brought up recovering after an overloaded week for me. I am trying to notice what helps without turning recovery into another test I have to pass. Rest can be part of responding to overload, not a reward that has to be earned. I am especially interested in approaches that still work on imperfect days.

Sometimes I tell one trusted person exactly what would help—listening, company, or a quick check-in later. Being specific takes away some of the guesswork.

I relate to the part about recovering after an overloaded week. What usually tells you that you need comfort, practical help, or simply some space?

One thing that has helped me is deciding in advance which task is allowed to wait. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

My experience has been uneven too. I started noting what happened just before a difficult moment, and over time a few useful patterns became visible.
