Learning to be patient with recovering after an overloaded week

I have been paying closer attention to recovering after an overloaded week this week. I am trying to notice what helps without turning recovery into another test I have to pass. Rest can be part of responding to overload, not a reward that has to be earned. If you relate, what is one thing you wish others knew about the experience?

Thank you for naming recovering after an overloaded week. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.

That is a helpful question. I call a step manageable when I can begin it without needing to feel completely ready first.

Sometimes I tell one trusted person exactly what would help—listening, company, or a quick check-in later. Being specific takes away some of the guesswork.

I appreciate the honesty here. It is encouraging to see people leave room for different needs, different timelines, and imperfect progress.
