Trying not to judge myself for having several emotions at once

This has been on my mind lately: having several emotions at once. I am trying to notice what helps without turning recovery into another test I have to pass. Holding conflicting feelings at the same time can make even simple decisions feel unclear. I would appreciate hearing what this has looked like in real life for other people.

I relate to the part about having several emotions at once. What usually tells you that you need comfort, practical help, or simply some space?

Thank you for naming having several emotions at once. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.

I appreciate the honesty here. It is encouraging to see people leave room for different needs, different timelines, and imperfect progress.

One thing that has helped me is writing each feeling down without forcing myself to choose one. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.
