Trying not to judge myself for repairing trust after a misunderstanding

This has been on my mind lately: repairing trust after a misunderstanding. I am trying to notice what helps without turning recovery into another test I have to pass. Care and boundaries can coexist, even when expressing both feels uncomfortable. I would appreciate hearing what this has looked like in real life for other people.

That is a helpful question. I call a step manageable when I can begin it without needing to feel completely ready first.

Sometimes I tell one trusted person exactly what would help—listening, company, or a quick check-in later. Being specific takes away some of the guesswork.

I appreciate the honesty here. It is encouraging to see people leave room for different needs, different timelines, and imperfect progress.
