A tiny bit of progress with starting again after losing momentum

It took me a while to name it, but I am dealing with starting again after losing momentum. Some days I can take a useful next step, while on other days simply acknowledging it feels like progress. I am reconsidering whether consistency can include pauses, adjustments, and fresh starts. I am especially interested in approaches that still work on imperfect days.

One thing that has helped me is tracking how often I return rather than how often I am perfect. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

Thank you for naming starting again after losing momentum. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.

That is a helpful question. I call a step manageable when I can begin it without needing to feel completely ready first.

Sometimes I tell one trusted person exactly what would help—listening, company, or a quick check-in later. Being specific takes away some of the guesswork.

I appreciate the honesty here. It is encouraging to see people leave room for different needs, different timelines, and imperfect progress.
