How I am rethinking being still without trying to empty my mind

It took me a while to name it, but I am dealing with being still without trying to empty my mind. I am learning that a response can be worthwhile even when it does not change everything at once. For me, being present means returning gently, not holding perfect concentration. Has anyone found a small, repeatable response that makes the next hour easier?

My experience has been uneven too. I started noting what happened just before a difficult moment, and over time a few useful patterns became visible.

One thing that has helped me is noticing three physical sensations and letting my attention settle there. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

Thank you for naming being still without trying to empty my mind. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.

I relate to the part about being still without trying to empty my mind. What usually tells you that you need comfort, practical help, or simply some space?
