Something that surprised me about using a short breathing pause

This has been on my mind lately: using a short breathing pause. I am learning that a response can be worthwhile even when it does not change everything at once. For me, being present means returning gently, not holding perfect concentration. If you relate, what is one thing you wish others knew about the experience?

One thing that has helped me is noticing three physical sensations and letting my attention settle there. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

Thank you for naming using a short breathing pause. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.

I relate to the part about using a short breathing pause. What usually tells you that you need comfort, practical help, or simply some space?
