A tiny bit of progress with feeling alone even around other people

It took me a while to name it, but I am dealing with feeling alone even around other people. The standard advice sounds simple, but applying it in ordinary life has been more complicated than I expected. Connection often begins with a smaller and less polished invitation than we imagine. I would appreciate hearing what this has looked like in real life for other people.

One thing that has helped me is sending a low-pressure message that does not require a long conversation. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

I appreciate the honesty here. It is encouraging to see people leave room for different needs, different timelines, and imperfect progress.

That is a helpful question. I call a step manageable when I can begin it without needing to feel completely ready first.

Thank you for naming feeling alone even around other people. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.
