A hopeful question about finding flow in a familiar hobby

A recent moment brought up finding flow in a familiar hobby for me. I would like to approach it with more curiosity and less pressure than I have in the past. Enjoyment becomes easier when the activity does not have to prove anything about my ability. Gentle suggestions and personal experiences are both welcome.

Sometimes I tell one trusted person exactly what would help—listening, company, or a quick check-in later. Being specific takes away some of the guesswork.

I relate to the part about finding flow in a familiar hobby. What usually tells you that you need comfort, practical help, or simply some space?

One thing that has helped me is giving myself permission to make an unfinished or imperfect version. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

My experience has been uneven too. I started noting what happened just before a difficult moment, and over time a few useful patterns became visible.
