It took me a while to name it, but I am dealing with starting a creative project without perfection. The standard advice sounds simple, but applying it in ordinary life has been more complicated than I expected. Enjoyment becomes easier when the activity does not have to prove anything about my ability. I would appreciate hearing what this has looked like in real life for other people.

One thing that has helped me is giving myself permission to make an unfinished or imperfect version. I keep the goal deliberately small so it feels supportive rather than like another obligation.

Thank you for naming starting a creative project without perfection. The details may differ for each person, but your post made me feel less alone in it.

I relate to the part about starting a creative project without perfection. What usually tells you that you need comfort, practical help, or simply some space?
